On August 27, 2024 the youtube logo transformed into a photo animation celebrating the photo-a-day genre of videos. I challenged myself to do some photo sequencing animation with complex camera movement, to show the “bts” of making a photo-a-day video.

Rebrand for Psycho Films
Exploring the traditional experimental animation technique of animating with sand, I depict abstract scenes of neurons splitting, growing, and firing signals inside the brain. The inverted image of sand on a light mat creates an x-ray-like glowing image, reminiscent of low quality microscopic imagery.

Commissioned logo ID for VICE TV
Through chiselling, smashing, moulding, and melting ice I created a new logo animation for VICE’s tv channel, to be shown between programs. For this animation I used several differenttechniques such as stop motion, rotoscope, and frame by frame. Captured solely on my scanner bed.

Accompanying a preview for a new song for Dominic Fike, I cultured physarum polycephalum (slime mold) in a CD jewel case and scanned it every 10 minutes for a few days.
